Twitter chat hints at Gambhir joining KXIP

Twitter chat hints at Gambhir joining KXIP: Going by a Twitter chat between the two parties, Gambhir might work with KXIP in IPL 2019.

Former India opening batsman Gautam Gambhir, who has recently retired from all forms of cricket, has given an impression of him working with Kings XI Punjab for the upcoming season of the IPL (Indian Premier League).

With no official confirmation been made as of now, all the murmurs have been derived from a Twitter chat between Gambhir and Kings XI Punjab. Taking to their Twitter account to bid adieu to Gambhir after he announced his retirement, KXIP posted a special message for him.

Acknowledging the message from the IPL franchise, Gambhir thanked them with the hope of meeting soon.

It was at this point in time that KXIP’s reply gave a hint with respect to both of them possibly working together in the times to come.

Having made his IPL debut for his home side in Delhi Daredevils in 2008, Gambhir represented Kolkata Knight Riders (2011-2017) in seven seasons. An homecoming saw Gambhir returning back to Daredevils this season. However, he dropped himself after he failed to perform in the first few matches.

Having elected a Head Coach in Mike Hesson for the upcoming season, Kings XI have a vacant position to replace Virender Sehwag. With Gambhir a retired cricketer now, franchises will be eyeing him for mentor and coaching roles in the times to come.

The optimist in him is waiting for the day when Punjab Kings will win their maiden Indian Premier League title.
