It was a series that was heavily tilted towards India, right from when the squads were announced, as South Africa had rested most of their limited overs stars in order to ‘protect’ them for the upcoming Australian series.

South Africa though have unearthed some stars in this series with Klaasen coming into his own in the 2nd T20, Junior Dala troubling the Indian top order, Hendricks getting those starts at the top of the order and then Jonker playing this brilliant cameo at the end in the 3rd T20.
But it has been India all along, right from that 3rd Test in Jo’Burg, they just haven’t let South Africa come into their own in the series, keeping them at bay with some wrist spin trickery at first and then using their limited overs expertise and skill set to edge the Proteas out.
With Virat Kohli injured for the 3rd T20 and India going in without the spin twins(Kuldeep and Chahal), it seemed as if the two teams were fairly even on paper, but the Indian batsman came to the party, putting up 172 on board on this sluggish Cape Town track.
The Indian bowlers then kept it tight using those cutters to good effect as the South Africans found it tough to time the ball.
The game got a little tricky in the end with Jonker and Behardien striking it well, but Bhuvi and Bumrah held it together to give India a very well deserved T20 series win.

What a win!!! Congratulations champions #TeamIndia @msdhoni @imVkohli @ImRo45
South Africa too played very well. Full marks to the debutant #Jonker. If he is little experienced, would have made it difficult for India.
Game was Full of volatility 🤪😂

The last limited over bilateral series loss for Team India with a minimum of 2 competed matches was against Australia in Jan 2016. 2 years and counting. Pretty phenomenal record.#Bestteam #SAvIND
