Twitter reactions for Bumrah’s 5 wicket haul, as he ripped through that lower middle order of England

It was the perfect performance from India, excelling with bat, bowl and in the field all through the four days.

The stage was set by the Indian openers, who fought it out on the first morning, under cloudy conditions, and when they were put into bat by the England captain.

Kohli and Rahane followed it up with a brilliant middle order partnership, one that helped India get to a score of 329.

A dogged start from the English openers meant that India had to be patient for their wickets and patient they were.

But when the gates opened, they swarmed in, like hungry bees, bees that had had enough of playing catch up cricket all through the series.

10 wickets in one session, thanks to some brilliant bowling by Hardik Pandya meant that for the first time, India were in the drivers seat.

In the second innings, the openers were once again at it, batting with freedom and providing the middle order with another platform to go big and take the game away from England’s reach.

521 was the total set and England were staring down the barrel big time.

The Indian bowlers were bowling with their tails up, thanks to the cloud over above them and had gotten through the top order.

However, they then ran into the stoic partnership of Buttler and Stokes, a duo that was unrelenting, one that was ready for the fight.

Buttler brought about his first Test hundred, playing an innings full of determination and grit.

And just when everyone thought that England could go into Day 5 with 6 wickets in hand and Stokes and Buttler at the crease, Bumrah stepped up to the plate.

He got two back to back wickets of Jos Butler(106) and Bairstow(0). His in-swinging delivery was unplayable to Butler, who was trapped for an LBW.

Bairstow was the new batsman whom Bumrah sent back to the pavilion immediately. He delivered a length ball which was nipped in by the batsman and took off his stumps.

These two wickets were the most essential one as it gave a breakthrough for the Indian team. Bumrah later on, just after one over, got rid of Woakes with a bouncer, who nicked it off his gloves and Rishabh Pant took a nice catch.

Bumrah did Rashid out as well, however, he had overstepped and thus Rashid was given the licence to use the long handle and take the attack to the Indian bowlers.

Broad and Rashid were taking their chances, driving the balls that were up there and pulling anything and everything that was short.

Bumrah wasn’t having it for too long though, as he nicked off Broad and in came Anderson.
