Virat Kohli meets 87-year old Charulata Patel: The Indian captain was seen engaging with the Fan of the Tournament at Edgbaston.

During the 40th match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 between Bangladesh and India at Edgbaston, India defeated Bangladesh by 28 runs to enter the semi-finals of the tournament. Another defeat for Bangladesh means that they have now been knocked out of the tournament.

Apart from all the sporting heroics which happened in the tournament, the match witnessed the presence of a special fan in the 87-year old Charulata Patel. Caught on camera while cheering the Indian batsmen in the first innings, Patel soon became the centre of attraction as he was repeatedly shown on the big screen.

During the mid-innings break, Patel was interviewed by ICC Digital Insider Ridhima Pathak. It was during the interview that Patel disclosed her passion for the game and that she has been following cricket from the last 20 years. In what was a sweet gesture, she talked about how she considers the Indian cricketers as her children.

Having become an instant sensation on social media platform twitter, Patel allured plentiful loving messages especially from India. Once the match got over, Patel got a chance to meet with India captain Virat Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma.
