Twitter reactions on AB de Villiers' tremendous 82

Twitter reactions on AB de Villiers’ tremendous 82: Twitter was elated after watching the veteran batsman’s blitz vs Kings XI.

During the 42nd match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab at Bengaluru, veteran Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman AB de Villiers scored his 33rd IPL half-century to propel his team to 202/4 in 20 overs.

Coming in to bat at No. 3 in the fourth over, de Villiers witnessed three batsmen getting out within a span of 10 runs. Despite a brisk start, the mini-collapse had seen the hosts struggling in the middle overs.

Having said that, it was a 121-run partnership for the fourth wicket between de Villiers and all-rounder Marcus Stoinis which aided RCB to post a formidable total. With them reeling at 84/4 at the halfway mark, de Villiers and Stoinis scored 118 runs in the second half of the innings.

What is further intriguing is the fact that Royal Challengers scored 80 runs in the last five overs and as many as 64 runs in the last three overs including three fours and seven sixes.

While de Villiers ended up scoring 82* (44) with the help of three fours and seven sixes, Stoinis scored 46* (34) with the help of a couple of fours and three sixes. With bowling figures of 4-0-15-1, Punjab captain Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of their bowlers.
