During the fourth ODI of the ongoing Windies’ tour of India at Mumbai, India’s middle-order batsman Ambati Rayudu scored his third ODI century. In an innings which almost confirms Rayudu as India’s No. 4 in the times ahead, it also provided India with much needed runs today.

Rayudu came in to bat at No. 4 in the 17th over when captain Virat Kohli (16) was out. After playing five dot deliveries, Rayudu got off the mark on the sixth one by scoring a glorious cover drive off Keemo Paul.

Rayudu played a vital role in a 211-run stand for the third wicket with vice-captain Rohit Sharma. Taken his time initially, Rayudu shifted gears as the innings progressed. Once Sharma completed his 21st ODI century, both of them were seen going against the bowling attack.

On the second delivery of the 37th over, with a single towards long-off, Rayudu completed his 10th ODI half-century. Often playing the slog sweep against both the pacers and spinners, Rayudu continued on his spree, nearing his hundred.
