Twitter reactions on Kieron Pollard's insane 31-ball 83

Twitter reactions on Kieron Pollard’s insane 31-ball 83: Twitter was exhilarated after witnessing a nerve-wrenching encounter at Wankhede.

During the 24th match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab at Mumbai, Mumbai Indians defeated Kings XI Punjab by 3 wickets to register their fourth IPL 2019 victory.

Chasing a 198-run target, Indians got off to a brilliant start after they scored 50/1 in the powerplay. However, wicket at regular intervals saw them losing their way in the chase. At 94/4 after 12 overs, Indians required 104 runs in eight overs.

Despite Indians captain Kieron Pollard starting to show signs of brilliance, things appeared daunting for them. While Pollard and MI all-rounder Hardik Pandya’s brisk 41-run partnership for the fifth wicket brought the hosts back in the match, it was eventually the captain who acted as the last man standing.

Promoting himself at No. 4, Pollard eventually scored 83 (31) with the help of three fours and 10 sixes. His dismissal in the last over called for a substantial twist in the match. With four runs required off as many balls, it was the duo of Alzarri Joseph (15*) and Rahul Chahar (1*) which sealed the chase for MI on the last ball.

The fact that Pollard single-handedly helped his team to chase 54 in the last four overs speaks highly about his captain’s knock in a pressurizing situation.

After Mumbai Indians captain Kieron Pollard won the toss and put the visitors in to bat, KXIP scored 197/4 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Opening batsman Lokesh Rahul top-scored for his team registering his maiden IPL hundred. Carrying his bat through, Rahul ended up scoring 100* (64) with the help of six fours and six sixes.
