Twitter reactions on Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan's centuries

Twitter reactions on Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan’s centuries: Twitter went crazy regarding the Indian openers’ brilliant performance.

During the third match of the Super Four stage of the ongoing Asia Cup between India and Pakistan at Dubai, Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan scored individual centuries to provide India with perhaps the best start to chase a 238-run target.

After Pakistani captain Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and chose to field, Pakistan ended up scoring 237-7 in 50 overs. Shoaib Malik, who came in to bat at No. 5 for Pakistan, top-scored with 78 (90). His innings comprised of four fours and two sixes. With bowling figures of 10-1-29-2, Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the Indian bowlers.

Continuing on their sublime form in the tournament, both Sharma and Dhawan dominated the opposition bowling line-up at will. It was Dhawan who initiated the attack against the bowlers when Sharma was settling in.

However, once both saw the new ball, there was no looking back for both of them. In which was a 210-run opening partnership, it was the highest by Indian openers against Pakistan and also the highest by India in any Asia Cup.

Dhawan was the first one to complete a half-century, reaching there in 56 balls in the 18th over. Sharma wasn’t far behind as he completed his feat in the 22nd over. By this time, it appeared that the Pakistani fielders had lost hopes regarding making a comeback in the match.

Both of them were involved in a race to the 100-run mark where Dhawan reached before his captain. On the second delivery of the 33rd over, Dhawan drove a Shaheen Afridi ball between cover and mid-off to bring his 15th ODI hundred.

Sharma, on the other hand, completed the feat in the over.

Both the Indian openers received a rich amount of approbation on social media platform Twitter. Watch some of the tweets below:
