Twitter reactions on Shakib Al Hasan's formidable century vs West Indies in ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

Twitter reactions on Shakib Al Hasan’s formidable century: Bangladesh all-rounder’s formidable century became a source of amazement for Twitterati.

During the 23rd match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 between West Indies and Bangladesh at Taunton, Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan scored his ninth ODI century. The awe-inspiring innings has continued Shakib’s golden run in the tournament.

Chasing a 322-run target, Shakib came in to bat at No. 3 in the ninth over. A 69-run stand for the second wicket alongside Tamim Iqbal (48) saw Shakib making his intentions clear from the word go.

With West Indian bowlers continually bowling short to him, Shakib didn’t shy away from pulling or cutting them to both parts of the ground. The southpaw did get a couple of lucky reprieves in the form of top-edges running for fours but other than those, he was at his quintessential best.

In an innings which spoke highly of him, Shakib continued and continued to battle it out against the opposition bowlers. Other than his cuts, what formed the highlight of his batting was him hitting three fours back past the fast bowlers.

It was on the first ball of the 21st over that Shakib ran a single off West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell to complete his half-century. On the last delivery of the 34th over, Shakib hit an exquisite cover drive off Oshane Thomas to reach the three-figure mark for the second time in the tournament.
