Twitter reactions on Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers: Twitter was exhilarated on watching the legendary duo calling the shots vs KKR.

During the 17th match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders at Bengaluru, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli and senior batsman AB de Villiers stitches a 108-run stand for the second wicket.

After losing all their matches in the season so far, Kohli and de Villiers punishing the KKR bowlers at will came as a delight for their fans. Arguably the most dreaded batting duo on paper in the IPL, Kohli and de Villiers hadn’t really stood tall on expectations till now.

The duo was united in the eight over when wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel (25) was found wanting in front of the stumps by part-time spinner Nitish Rana.

de Villiers, who no longer plays international cricket now, was looking out-of-sorts initially but came back strongly after getting his eye in. With Kohli continuing to play his shots, he made sure the scoreboard kept moving as a swift pace.

The partnership eventually got over on the first ball of the 18th over when Knight Riders chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav grabbed a stunner to send back Kohli. The RCB skipper ended up scoring 84 (49) with the help of nine fours and two sixes.

On the other hand, de Villiers got out in the penultimate over after scoring 63 (32) with the help of five fours and four sixes. After KKR captain Dinesh Karthik won the toss and put the hosts in to bat, Royal Challengers ended up scoring 205-3 in their allotted quota of 20 overs.
