Twitter reactions on Washington Sundar's upsetting day on the field in Hyderabad T20I

Twitter reactions on Washington Sundar’s upsetting day: The Indian all-rounder was found clueless on the field in the first match.

During the first T20I of the ongoing West Indies’ tour of India in Hyderabad, India all-rounder Washington Sundar ended up missing a simple catching opportunity to give a reprieve to West Indies batsman Shimron Hetmyer.

It all happened on the first delivery of the 16th over when Hetmyer top-edged a delivery from India spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. Sundar, who was fielding at short fine leg, both slipped and misjudged the catch to appear absolutely clueless about the same.

In an opportunity where the 20-year old all-rounder should have stepped forward, he ended up back-peddling to further decrease the chances of catching the ball.

Not having the best of days on the field, Sundar dropped Hetmyer once again in the following over after the batsman hit a Deepak Chahar delivery towards Sundar at long-on. Opening the bowling for India, Sundar registered bowling figures of 3-0-34-1.

Hetmyer was eventually dismissed by Chahal in the next over when his attempt to play a slog sweep saw him hitting the ball straight to India vice-captain Rohit Sharma at deep square leg. Coming in to bat at No. 4 in the sixth over, Hetmyer ended up scoring 56 (41) with the help of two fours and four sixes.

It was India captain Virat Kohli who won the toss and put the opposition in to bat. Taking the attack on the Indian bowlers from the word go, the visitors have scored 207/5 in their allotted quota of 20 overs.
