Twitter reacts as France beat Belgium to enter World Cup final

France met Belgium in the first semifinal of the World Cup.

An impressive performance from France saw the Euro 2016 finalists storm into the final of the World Cup, as they overcame Belgium 1-0. The French pulled out a defensive masterclass against Belgium, as their defenders neutralised the attack from Lukaku, Eden Hazard and Kevin de Bruyne.

Didier Deschamps will now take a shot at glory again, having won the World Cup as the captain of France in 1998.

Belgium led some quality attacks in the first half but failed to penetrate the French defence, before France took the lead in the second half.

It was again through a set-piece as Samuel Umtiti headed-in from the corner. Courtois couldn’t react on time as France led in the match.

Belgium continued to rally into France’s defence but failed to net the ball in, and Hugo Lloris was on point with some brilliant saves throughout the match.

France will now meet the winners of the match between England and Croatia, which will be played tomorrow. Belgium, meanwhile will now play in the third-place match.
