India’s U-19 World Cup campaign begun on an emphatic note as the young Indian cricketers recorded a 100 run win over Australia in their opening game of the U-19 World Cup.

Prodigy and captain, Prithvi Shaw set the tone for the Indian cricket team, constructing a brilliant opening partnership with Manjot Kalra to give India the perfect start upfront.

Shaw, who has been hailed big time by a lot of cricket experts in the Indian domestic circuit, racked up 94 runs, with Manjot giving good support in the form of a brilliant 86 run knock.

Vice-captain, Shubham Gill then joined the party, upping the ante with a 54 ball 63 to put Australia on the back foot.

And while we thought that the Indian top-order would end up being the most talked about in India today, the young Indian fast bowlers did something that Indian cricket fans are not used to witnessing.

India has always been a batting crazy nation, with bowling receiving next to no attention whenever a young kid steps out to play in his/her ‘gully’.

And that mindset amongst players, coaches and parents has led to India’s struggles of finding a quality, quality fast bowler.

But a lot of Indian cricket fans would take heart in how these young U-19 Indian seamers bowled today, clocking 140 kmph plus on regular intervals.

Kamlesh Nagarkoti caught the imagination of all onlookers, as he looked in total control of his deliveries and managed to clock 146.4 kmph, with multiple balls in the region of 142-146 kmph.

Indian fans and a lot of ex-stars on Twitter rejoiced on seeing Nagarkoti dishing out such venomous deliveries to the young Australian batsmen.

With these youngsters consistently bowling 140 kmph+, Sourav Ganguly wants Virat Kohli and the BCCI to take notice, and take good care of these young quicks for the years to come. They could be of huge, huge benefit to India in the international circuit.
