Colby Covington Issues a Controversial Statement at the press address following UFC Vegas 11. The 32-year-old won his fight against Tyron Woodley in the fifth round.
Colby Covington who is often referred as loudmouth, was apparently riding high after defeating long time rival Tyron Woodley at UFC Vegas 11. In the post event press address, he gave his opinion on his opponent, and it turns out, even after winning the battle he is not ready to bury the hatchet. In the conference, through Tyron Woodley he targeted the entire “Black Lives Matter” movement, which is prevalent in the entire USA, and evidently passed some objectionable slurs for the nationwide drive.
Colby Covington’s Statement
Covington was asked about his recent Instagram post, where he indirectly called Woodley a “Terrorist Sympathizer” and was questioned why he did it, to which he answered, “Because he is standing up to lifelong criminals. The Black Lives Matter is a complete sham, it’s a joke, they are taking these people that are complete terrorists, you know they are taking these people that are criminals, you know these aren’t people that are hardworking Americans, blue collar Americans, these are bad people, they are criminals, and they shouldn’t be attacking police.
If you are breaking the law and you are threatening the cops with weapons, then you know you deserve to get what you get. So, you know with law enforcement you know it protects us all, if we don’t have law enforcement it will be wild-wild west. So people need to go give a pat on the back to every single law enforcement every single day and thank them for keeping us all safe, otherwise, all these criminals would be running the streets wild, and none of us will be safe.”
On Tyron Woodley, he said, “He’s a Communist. He’s a Marxist, he stands for criminals, he hates America, and that’s why he got broke tonight.”
Call From President Trump
With these remarks, apparently one can like him, or can loathe him, but taking into account his in-ring performance one can definitely not ignore him. After his match, Colby Covington instantly got a call from President Donald Trump, who congratulated the No.2 Welterweight on his main event victory.
