UFC reveals the name of the referee, who will officiate the UFC 257 main event bout between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier.
UFC 257 has finally arrived and the action has commenced inside the Etihad arena, Fight Island, Abu Dhabi. The event has a start-studded card and one of the most enthralling main events of all time. It is Conor McGregor, who will mark his in-ring comeback after a third retirement stint, against Dustin Poirier, who is chasing another title shot and the ultimate glory of getting a win against McGregor.
The buzz about the fight is breaking thresholds, on account of which the Pay-Per-View may very well supersede UFC 229 in PPV buys. However, that’s a notion other than fight.
While only a few hours remain before the world would witness what ultimately will transpire in the fight, in the meanwhile, it would be of some interest to know an important detail about the matchup, viz. Who will officiate the rematch?

Referee Herb Dean
The Lightweight contest is a rematch of the 2014 Featherweight bout where McGregor stood tall after a first-round TKO win. Since then the two went on different ways, Conor McGregor went on to become the promotion’s first double champ (Featherweight+Lightweight), and then saw an inconsistent run as far as being active in the ring is concerned. Poirier, on the other hand, significantly rose in stature to an extent that he even claimed the Interim Lightweight title.
At UFC 257, Conor McGregor will enter as the betting favorite but Dustin Poirier will make his way as a better-ranked fighter. So, what is going to be the outcome, will it be the same as UFC 178 or will the Diamond fade Mystic Mac with its shine? The spectacle is set to unfold in few hours.
Whether it is going to be the same or a different result, the debate will remain open until one wins, however, what’s ironic is the referee who officiated their first encounter will be there in the Octagon to do the same.
Referee Herb Dean will officiate the main event of UFC 257.
