Nathan Diaz, the younger brother of Nick Diaz, has been in combat sports since childhood. He used to follow his big brother Nick Diaz and go to jiujitsu practices. The journey of becoming something for Nate Diaz started from Jiujitsu.  His UFC fights though are majority stand up wars with his opponents. The fans would want to know if Nate Diaz, the Ex UFC-star is a fighter or a grappler and what exactly his fighting style is.

Nate Diaz comes from Stockton, California. A place where life is tough, and the neighborhoods test you. This is reflected in the mindset of the Diaz brothers.

Nate Diaz Fighting Style : Striker or a Grappler?

Nate Diaz in his MMA Career has 22 wins and 13 losses in the UFC. The stardom that Nate and Nick Diaz have achieved is like no other fighter in the UFC. This could very well be because of the originality of the Diaz brothers.

Diaz is a very good martial artist and can be known for his striking as well as grappling. It’s hard to put him in one of these categories, as he is great at boxing as well as jiujitsu. He has wins over opponents because of his outstanding boxing as well as incredible submission skills.

He trained his boxing with Richard Perez for his entire career. The training partners of Nate Diaz were Nick Diaz, Jake Shield, Gilbert Melendez. The scrap pack as you all know are all amongst the top fighters in the UFC.

Andre Ward, who is a fantastic boxer, has said Nate Diaz gets better as time goes on from his sparring experience with Nate. Joe Schilling also had many words of praise to say about Nate Diaz, as he himself is a high-level kick boxer.

The grappling comes from a very young age for Nate Diaz. He is a black belt under Gracie camp. We have seen submissions from Nate Diaz that were slick, and fans were always impressed with the jiujitsu skills of the younger Diaz brother.

Some of his wins which came via striking were against Michael Johnson, Anthony Pettis, Donald Cerrone etc. He also has submission wins over fighters like Conor McGregor, Tony Ferguson, Takanori Gomi, etc. A fighter who has all the grappling and boxing weapons in his arsenal is Nate Diaz.

Nate Diaz vs Jake Paul:

The recent news that broke the internet and especially took the combat world by surprise is that Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz is now official. These two have had beef in the past. Jake Paul’s team and Nate Diaz’s team went at each other backstage at at event in Arizona.

Nate Diaz has left the UFC now and is a free agent. He can do whatever he wants as a free agent, and boxing is what he chose. Not to the surprise of many Diaz fans, as this is what he would do, as he says he wants the big money.

Jake Paul has knocked out 3 of the top fighters in MMA inside the boxing ring. Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva are the three names. Let’s see if he is able to get the job done against Nate Diaz, or he gets cleaned up by Stockton’s own.
