Khabib Nurmagomedov Nickname: Before Being Known As The Eagle, What Was Khabib's Ring Name?

You know the man, you know his in-ring credentials, but do you know before making rounds as The Eagle, Khabib Nurmagomedov had a different ring name.

With an unmatched fight ability and an undisputed record to showcase, Khabib Nurmagomedov is undoubtedly an elite MMA professional. While his record has given him the tag of being invincible, his association with the biggest MMA promotion in the world has made him a globally recognized individual.

Khabib’s fan following has increased exponentially over the years, which has bolstered his name to become a brand of its own. He is now the bearer of over a million followers on social media and is an ambassador of many international labels as well.

In accordance with the growth in stature and the rise in popularity, a small element of Khabib also got highlighted and it is his bynames. While, The Eagle, The Dagestani fighter, GOAT, are some of the prevalent names, there was a time when none of these were famed and he had a different ring sobriquet.

What Was Khabib’s Ring Name Before “The Eagle”?

Before landing a deal with UFC in 2012, Khabib was an established performer in the domestic (Russia) circuit. 16 out of his 29 wins have come outside of the UFC and through that, he paved the way towards the top flight of MMA.

However, one intriguing fact about his pre-UFC days has to do with his ring name. It is apparently a matter of beyond belief, that the unformidable “The Eagle” was once “Khabib Bad Boy.”

So, Khabib the “bad boy” not bad right?

While the name is a chapter of his past, it is still a question, whether the Octagon is the same or not. Khabib Nurmagomedov is soon set to meet Dana White again and unlike last time this time, the one-to-one may produce a concrete agreement.
