UFC Champ Lost $10,000 From His $4 Million Fortune as Lewis Hamilton Crumbled at F1 Monaco Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton, who drives for the Mercedes AMG F1 team, is widely considered to be the best F1 racer of all time. With seven world titles to his name, he is the joint leader in all-time world championships along with Michael Schumacher. He has had one of the most dominant runs in F1 over the past decade. However, his recent seasons have been rather distasteful. Hamilton and his team are struggling to come up with a car that can compete with the likes of Red Bull and Aston Martin, who seem to be way ahead of them when it comes to pace.
They had the same problem this past weekend at the Monaco GP where the Brit finished 4th despite a better performance being expected by him. In an unexpected twist, he also unintentionally caused a UFC champion to lose $10,000 from his money.
UFC star Israel Adesanya lost $10k after betting on Lewis Hamilton
Going into the Monaco GP race weekend, UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya revealed that he has placed three bets on the race. One of the bets he placed was for Lewis Hamilton to finish in the top 3. However, with Hamilton finishing 4th, he lost his bet.
What’s at @stake for the Grand Prix?!! Had to go with my team Stake drivers for points too. 🏎️💨 pic.twitter.com/3zTe2JiYDG

Interestingly, his bet on the Brit was of the most amount he had on a stake in the three bets he had placed. ‘The Last Stylebender’ had wagered over $10k on Hamilton. He posted about it on Twitter with the caption:
“What’s at @stake for the Grand Prix?!! Had to go with my team Stake drivers for points too.”
While losing $10k might seem a lot to many people, it’s certainly not that much for Israel Adesanya, who has a net worth of over $4 million at the moment.
Adesanya recently encountered Alex Pereira at the airport
Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira have one of the most storied rivalries in the history of the sport. The two have fought each other a total of four times now, two of those in kickboxing and two in MMA. Pereira had previously defeated Adesanya two times in kickboxing before beating him again in the UFC last year.
However, the two entered the octagon again earlier this year, and Adesanya made sure to deliver in a big way as he secured an emphatic KO victory in the second round of the fight. In the process, he also regained his middleweight championship.
Interestingly, the two had a rather unusual run-in at the airport recently. While the two met each other in a respectful manner, fans have been going berserk since the video has come out, with many suggesting that they can’t ever escape each other.
Do you guys think they will fight again? What are your thoughts on Adesanya’s bets?
