Unai Emery decides on Ozil's captain

Unai Emery has offered Mesut Ozil to two clubs to complete Yannick Carrasco deal.

Unai Emery has offered Arsenal’s midfielder Mesut Ozil to two clubs, according to TuttoMercardo Web. The Spaniard has been in the fringes because of the availability of money in this transfer window as they strive to finish in a Champions League place.

Recently, Denis Suarez, Yannick Carrasco, and Ever Banega have been the players to be linked with the Gunners, but the deal was never going to be completed. Before the game against West Ham United, Unai Emery confirmed that Arsenal are trying to sanction loan deals, completely ruling out permanent transfers in the forthcoming days.

However, the parent club is trying to sell those players rather than loaning them out for rest of the season which has made the Gunners manager think twice.

The injury to Henrikh Mkhitaryan has cut short the options in the attacking parts of the game. Even though the likes of Alex Iwobi has stepped up their game, there is no doubt that they lack a top-notch wide forward who would be able to terrorize the opponent’s defense.

On the other hand, the German Mesut Ozil who signed a new contract worth 350,000 pounds per week has not been featuring under Unai Emery recently. Initially, the midfielder was looking solid by producing much more towards the attacking part of the game, but his inconsistency and work rate has often been questioned by the manager.

After the defeat to West Ham, Unai Emery was asked if Arsenal missed him during the game, but Emery justified his selection by saying that he has picked the players who have deserved to be in the team sheet.

Besides, he was forced to miss two weeks of football action because of his back injury. The reason turned out to be pretty hilarious as Ozil used to play the famous video game ‘Fortnite’ more than five hours a day which disrupted him from regularly training with the team.

Going into more than halfway into the season, Mesut Ozil has made just 16 appearances in all competitions, scoring four and assisting another two to his teammates. It has been a frustrating campaign for both the player and the club.

It is understood that Mesut Ozil has been offered to Inter Milan and Juventus as Unai Emery pushes to sign Yannick Carrasco from China who reportedly wants a move from the Asian Continent.

Gunners legend Paul Merson has said that Arsenal must get rid off Mesut Ozil as soon as possible.

“Arsenal have got to get rid of Mesut Ozil. They need his wages off the books because he is giving them nothing at the moment.

“He hardly ever plays and, when he does, the manager is taking him off at half-time. You can’t justify paying him that much money if he isn’t starting every game and putting a shift in.
