USSA vs SA-EP Dream 11 Team: Final spot in the summit clash continues to be on grab after SA-EP go down by 21 runs against SL-ET

With South Africa Emerging Players succumbing to a defeat on Wednesday against Sri Lanka Emerging Team, the door has suddenly been pushed open for the University Sports South Africa Side. Although still an extremely tentative proposition for them to make it to the summit clash, today’s final league stage match is one last chance for them to get a win against SA-EP.

Elsewhere for South Africa Emerging Players, the ninth game of the showpiece tournament offers a massive opportunity to get back to winning ways. Despite putting in a stellar display with the bat against SL-ET on Wednesday as they went onto score a steady 269, the bowling department let them down. They allowed the opposition to pile on 262-5 in 44 overs before rain made an advent into the encounter, seeing SL-ET win by 21 runs through the DLS method.

Part of the CSA National Academy, a program aimed at the successful transition of players from the senior provincial level in the country to the international fraternity, the SA Emerging Players side have been extremely unstable throughout the tournament. While they’ve dominated against USSA, they’ve faltered to get past SL-ET, their potential finalists and will be looking to treat today’s match as one final practice before the big encounter.

Probable Winner

The last five encounters between the two teams see SA-EP slightly holding the upper hand with the three wins to their name as opposed to the two for USSA. The last time these two had met we had seen SA-EP get past by three wickets as they chased down USSA’s total with relative ease to earn an important four points on the day.

Playing in a pivotal match for themselves, we see SA-EP winning this fixture once again. Their batting heavy department is far better than the paper thin one of USSA who’ll be left crumbled in this department.

Wicket-Keeper for USSA vs SA-EP Dream 11

With 149 runs in the five matches, USSA’s man behind the wickets, Rubin Hermann has emerged as one of the finest bats for his side. He’s helped stabilise things and wage a lone battle despite wickets falling at the other end and we’ve opted for him as the first player to come into our side.

Batsmen for USSA vs SA-EP Dream 11

Scoring 108 the last time these two sides clashed heads in the showpiece tournament, SA-EP’s captain Raynard Van Tonder is our first pick in the batting order. The first centurion of the tournament, he’s scored 199 runs in the CSA Emerging Series, one of the most stellar batsman in the hosts’ side.

Matthew Breetzke was rested for the previous match but we see him coming back into his side’s playing 11 today and with the 183 runs in 4 matches, he’s a must pick for us from SA-EP. We have the lone selection coming in from USSA in the form of Kabelo Sekhukhune after his sturdy and impressive pefromance against SL-ET.

All-Rounders for USSA vs SA-EP Dream 11

The 1 100 and 2 50s see hi amass a bagful of runs to sit at the pinnacle of the run getters in the tournament, making Delano Potgieter an undoubtable pick in our side. He’s scored a momentous 336 runs in 5 matches at the tournament, imbedding into his side a culture of excellence and we see him taking the onus to deliver an incisive performance today as well.

Dayaan Galiem and Sibonelo Makhanya are going to be accompanying him while Ruan de Swardt becomes our lone selection from USSA.

Bowling Order for USSA vs SA-EP Dream 11

We’ll begin with our selection from USSA first with Beyers Swanepoel coming in from their side. His side’s highest wicket taker, the 8 scalps in his kitty have emphasised his restrictive brand of line and length which make taking him apart an extremely treacherous prospect.

From SA-EP we have a two man partnership come in the form of Kyle Simmonds and Marco Jansen with USSA’s callous batting line-up bound to see them lose a solid amount of wickets on the day.

Captain And Vice-Captain

Tonder has been chosen as our captain for today while we have gone ahead with Delano as the vice-captain.
