Viijay Hazare Trophy 2019-20: Watch Suresh Kumar and Paras Dogra create mayhem while running between wickets

Suresh Kumar and Paras Dogra create mayhem: The two batsmen from Puducherry were involved in huge miscommunication in Bengaluru.

During the first Quarter-final of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy between Karnataka and Puducherry in Bengaluru, Puducherry batsmen Suresh Kumar and Paras Dogra were involved in massive miscommunication while running between the wickets.

The ramification of the same came in the form of Kumar walking back to the pavilion after scoring 4 (4) with the help of one four. Coming in to bat at No. 6 with his team being restricted to 35/4, Kumar was expected to spend more time in the middle but it wasn’t to be.

It all happened on the last delivery of the 15th over when Kumar played a V Koushik delivery towards mid-wicket. The miscommunication happened after Praveen Dubey failed to cleanly collect the mid-wicket fielder’s throw.

In a single which wasn’t available, both the batsmen started to run without showing much confidence in their partner. With Dogra eventually refusing the single, Kumar had to run all the way back to the striker’s end. By then, Dubey and Karnataka wicket-keeper Lokesh Rahul had worked in tandem to run-out the batsman without much discomfort.

After Karnataka captain Manish Pandey won the toss and put the visitors in to bat, Puducherry scored a mediocre 207/9 in their allotted quota of 50 overs. Individual half-centuries from Vikneshwaran Marimuthu (58) and Sagar Trivedi (54) played a vital role in Puducherry recovering from losing six wickets for 41 runs.

With bowling figures of 10-0-44-3, Dubey was the pick of the bowlers for Karnataka. Among the pacers, Koushik (2), Abhimanyu Mithun (2) and Prasidh Krishna (1) were also among the wickets.
