Vijay Mallya is a confident man. So much so that, when the entire nation is looking for the fugitive that owes the government thousands of crores, he shows up at a ‘charity’ event all decked up and, uninvited.

The Virat Kohli Foundation had a charity dinner last night where Vijay Mallya made a surprise appearance after also being photographed during the India-Pakistan game.
Virat Kohli avoided Mallya all through the event and the Indian team even left early to avoid any kind of controversy.
Mallya currently owes the Indian government close to 9000 crores. He has currently taken refuge in the England and the Indian government is desperately trying to get him back to the country.
“Look, Virat or his foundation never invited Mallya at the function. But normally what happens at the charity dinner is that someone who has bought a table is entitled to invite his guests. Similarly, someone who bought a table must have invited him,” a BCCI source at the event told the reporters.
“The Indian team wasn’t comfortable and they maintained a dignified distance from Mallya. Mallya’s presence is one of the reason that team left early. The players were very uncomfortable. It was an unavoidable situation as one couldn’t have possibly asked him to leave,”
Vijay Mallya was Virat Kohli’s owner during the IPL, but with the Indian captain already knee deep in the Kumble controversy, he wouldn’t have wanted to see himself on the front page for embracing the fugitive Mallya.
The Indian Cricket Team is in London and is preparing for its second group game against Sri Lanka on the 8th of June. A win against the islanders would guarantee a spot for India in the semi final.
