It has been an immensely disappointing IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore this season. RCB are one of the most popular franchises in the IPL and boast three of the very best T20 batsmen in the world. After reaching the final last year, they were expected to finally lift the trophy this time around. But some shocking batting performances have left them at the very bottom of the points table with no chance of progressing further in the tournament. Their star players, Virat Kohli and ABD sent out special messages to the RCB fans in order to thank them for their continued support.

Touted as the pre tournament favorites, RCB were rocked prior to the IPL when they learnt that Rahul, Sarfaraz and Kohli will be ruled out of the initial few matches through injury.
Even when Kohli played for the RCB, he looked woefully out of form as he resorted to desperate shots which invariably led to his dismissal.
Thanks to the @RCBTweets fans for all the unconditional love and support this season as well. Sorry we couldn't play up to our standards.

Widely considered as the most complete batsman of his generation, AB de Villers started off the season quite well. But his displays petered off as he failed to inspire the team around him.

Both Kohli and De Villers have been vocal in their disappointment over this season and have publicly apologized to their legion of fans all around the world.
A disappointing #IPL2017. Some tough lessons learnt that we take in to next year! Happy to be home with the family before the #CT17 in June.

As Chirs Gayle looks to be winding down, Kohli and De Villers will be crucial for the RCB over the next few years. Gayle was the inspiration for so long at this club, but RCB will need other people to step into his huge shoes.
Lots to ponder for the RCB team management in relation to next season.
