The footballing revolution has hit India, or at least that is what we are made to believe. Indian football fans flock in numbers to watch their favourite European club ply their trade during match screenings all over the country, however, only 2599 people made it to the stadium to watch the Indian Football Team take on Chinese Taipei in the Intercontinental Cup.

The footballing revolution is making its way to India, yes, but it hasn’t really been able to convince Indian football fans to watch their own country play at home.
Now, there is a big reason for it, and that is the ‘quality of play’, something that Chhetri too addressed in his video. However, he wanted to convey one very important thing through his video and that was that only with fans coming to the ground to support their own country could a real ‘football revolution’ get started in the country.
Yes, the level is not as great as that of the European clubs, but Chhetri has promised entertainment and has vowed that his team is striving to reach close to the level of those European clubs.
Here is Chhetri’s message:
This is nothing but a small plea from me to you. Take out a little time and give me a listen. pic.twitter.com/fcOA3qPH8i

He wants to instil that sense of pride within Indians. that of getting that feeling of joy whilst watching ‘your own’ country play.
Chhetri pleaded to the people of India to come in numbers and watch India play in Mumbai during the Intercontinental Cup.
The video went viral on social media, with many football fans echoing Chhetri’s sentiments and wanting to pass on the message to their fellow fans.
Virat Kohli too wanted Indian fans to go out in numbers in order to support the national team and came out with a wonderful message for his followers.
Please take notice of my good friend and Indian football skipper @chetrisunil11‘s post and please make an effort. pic.twitter.com/DpvW6yDq1n
