Virat Kohli becomes the most searched sportsperson in 2017
A survey study by search engine Yahoo showed that Virat Kohli beat MS Dhoni to become the most searched sportsperson in 2017. With the calendar year coming to a close, Virat Kohli stole the spotlight tipping MS Dhoni for the top spot.
In 2015, the same Virat Kohli shot into prominence by surpassing the likes of MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar and Lionel Messi. However, as far as IPL 2017 is concerned, MS Dhoni topped the charts as the most searched cricketer.
Following India’s remarkable feat of securing the No.1 place in the ICC Test rankings, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli emerged out as Yahoo’s most searched sportsperson in 2017. In the most searched Indian’s list, Virat Kohli has stationed himself at the fifth place led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Virat Kohli created history for winning 9 consecutive Test series wins equalling the great Ricky Ponting’s record. With all the bases covered, India are on a roll to dismantle the opposition. Currently, Virat Kohli is rested for the ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka.
Virat Kohli’s next big assignment is the South Africa series which will start in January. He will be vying to become the first Indian captain to win a series in South Africa.
