Virat Kohli catch vs South Africa: Watch Indian captain grabs splendid athletic catch to dismiss Quinton de Kock

Virat Kohli catch vs South Africa: The Indian captain led from the front in the field to send back his counterpart in the 12th over.

During the second T20I of the ongoing South Africa’s tour of India in Mohali, India captain Virat Kohli led from the front on the field to grab a splendid athletic catch to send back South Africa captain Quinton de Kock to the pavilion.

It all happened on the second delivery of the 12th over when de Kock’s attempt to continue assault against India fast bowler Navdeep Saini saw him mis-timing the ball. In what was a short-of-length delivery, de Kock wanted to hit it down the ground.

As a result, the southpaw hit the ball between mid-off and mid-on. Kohli, who was fielding at mid-off, ran to his left to eventually time his dive to perfection to complete a marvelous catch.

In the last few overs, India have given an overthrow and gave away another boundary while trying to catch a ball. Just when things were seeming to go out of control, Kohli made sure he didn’t let the slight opportunity go away.

Having opened the batting alongside Reeza Hendricks (6), de Kock was his sublime touch from the word go. Getting assistance from the surface, de Kock punished the Indian bowlers at will in the powerplay. In what was his third T20I half-century, de Kock ended up scoring 52 (37) with the help of eight fours after Kohli won the toss and put the visitors in to bat.
