Virat Kohli comments on RCB losing vs KKR: RCB captain rips apart bowlers as Andre Russell wins it for KKR
It was the Andre Russell show at the Chinnaswamy tonight, as the big West Indian took the game away from RCB right at the end to win it for KKR.
With KKR needing close to 18 runs per over during the last 4 overs, one would have imagined that it would be difficult for even Russell to help KKR get over the line. However, as he has done so many times this season, once again Russell did the job for his team, tonking the ball to all parts of the ground and taking his side home with 5 balls to spare.
Virat Kohli, who had taken his side to that 200+ score was absolutely devastated after the loss, blaming the bowlers for not taking responsibility during the death overs.
All the RCB death bowlers were guilty of bowling length balls at the end and helping Russell in his pursuit of taking KKR home.
Kohli pointed that how the bowlers did not do what was asked of them and panicked when they needed to keep a calm head. He also praised Russell for his power hitting and said that individuals needed to figure out on their own what went wrong at the death, as this was a game that they should have won at all costs.
Virat Kohli comments on RCB losing vs KKR
“There is no guessing there, the last 4 four overs that we bowled was just unacceptable. We needed to be more clever, nothing came off and we just cracked under pressure. That’s been our story this season so far. If you bowl with not enough bravery in the crucial overs, then you will always struggle against power-hitters like Russell.” Kohli said.
“I wasn’t really happy getting out at that moment, could’ve got 20-30 more. I thought the runs were enough on the board, we didn’t show enough composure. We can have a bit of chat about what went wrong, apart from that nothing much you can say. I don’t think talking enough helps. It’s been a disappointing season so far, but we are still optimistic about our chances. We just have to believe in ourselves.” he added.
KKR got out of jail once again thanks to Andre Russell and RCB once again showed why they are at the bottom of the table this season.
