Virat Kohli Injury Update
While BCCI didn’t provide an official statement at the moment, the Indian team management have now issued a statement regarding the status of Kohli’s injury.
It is believed that the Indian skipper is absolutely fit and that there are no concerns regarding his thumb.
Kohli, who is arguably the most important batsman in the Indian team, is vital to India’s chances to prosper in the tournament. With India already having an unsettled No. 4 position, missing their captain would be last thing which the team needed.
In the two warm-up matches which Kohli took part in, he scored 18 (24) and 47 (46) against New Zealand and Bangladesh respectively. Kohli might not have converted his starts into a substantial score but he looked comfortable during his stay in the middle.
