The fans were already curious to know such things and to their curiosity, they got to know about it from the Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s words finally.
Virat Kohli in a recent interaction with the host Gaurav Kapur at the ‘Breakfast with Champions’ show revealed the funniest person in the dressing room.
Kohli said that Rohit Sharma is one of the funniest people he has ever seen and whatever things he has to deal, he would deal it in his own style.
“Rohit Sharma is actually one of the funniest people you will ever come across. If he has to address some issue, he will do so in his typical ‘tapori’ (Mumbai Street lingo) style, like if I have to say, there’s a lot of traffic in Lokhandwala.
He’ll say, ‘There’s a lot of this over there’. Then we wait… five seconds, 10 seconds…’But it’s very this, man’. Basically, it is up to you to understand. I have said what I had to now it’s up to you and how sharp your brain is…I’m, not going to explain what I’m talking about’,” Kohli added.
Apart from being funny, Rohit Sharma is absent-minded in nature. Kohli added that Rohit forgets basic things in the team bus that are used day to day in lives.
Before starting the bus, the logitiscal manager just asks whether the things are packed up just to ensure Rohit Sharma has carried his belongings with him and only then bus would move.
“The number of things Rohit Sharma forgets, I’ve never seen anyone else so forgetful. iPad, wallet, phone…not the small things, but daily use essentials…I don’t care, I’ll get new one.
He has no idea he’s left something, the bus would’ve travelled half way to the hotel and then he remembers ‘Oh, I left my iPad on the plane’. He’s left his passport also a few times. It was really difficult retrieving it.
The logistical manager always asks, ‘Does Rohit Sharma have all his stuff?’. Once he gets a yes from Rohit then only does the bus departs,” Kohli added.
However, Virat Kohli also said that he has never seen anyone time the ball to perfection better than Rohit Sharma. The day Virat saw Rohit bat was the day he came to know Rohit is a fantastic player by trait.
“Initially when Rohit was bursting onto the scene…we were all very curious because everyone was talking about his player Rohit Sharma. We were very curious because we were also young players but nobody was talking about us.
Then during the T20 World Cup I saw him bat…and I just slumped on the sofa. That shut my mouth forever. When you saw him play you understood what people were talking about. What we are witnessing here, amazing. I haven’t seen someone time the ball better than him,” he said.
Other than Rohit Sharma, Yuvraj Singh never orders food at all. Till date, he hasn’t ordered the food but he has blamed and criticised the food that the other orders.
Hardik Pandya is deeply in love with English songs. Kohli added that Hardik Pandya does not know a bit of five words but he keeps hearing the beats and gets pumped up.
