Virat Kohli upped his ante in the ICC Test rankings
Indian skipper Virat Kohli is one of the very few batsmen to have been consistent in scoring runs in all the three formats. Averaging above 50 plus is something terrific.
In the first Test against Sri Lanka at the Eden Gardens, Virat Kohli scored his 18th Test century in the second innings that took the team out of all sorts of trouble.
Kohli who is known for his dry patch at Eden Gardens has successfully broken the hoodoo to achieve the milestone. This puts him a place ahead in the Test rankings.

The run-machine is already ranked first in both ODIs and T20Is. He is surely eyeing for something big in the Tests as well. He has got two more Tests to play against Sri Lanka.
The first match ended in a draw. The No.1 ranked Test side will take on the Lankan tail for the second match that is scheduled to be played on November 24 at VCA Stadium.
To add the fact that Kohli will have a prime role to play in the three-match Test series when India tour South Africa kicks off on January 5th onwards.
