Virat Kohli wants to get the better of himself day by day
Virat Kohli’s aggression on the field is a big tick for the Indian cricket team. The way he leads the team is a sheer reflection of his character. As always, he is going from strength to strength in dealing things. Be it astute captaincy skills or the batting traits.
Kohli, who possess never give up attitude quite often, seeks for motivation and that keeps him going. He ensures to think and approach with a positive mindset. He believes in the process rather than pondering about the results.
“As an individual, the only thing that’s in my hand is preparation and [having] a [positive] mindset. And I am fully committed for that. In fact, I make sure that I am absolutely giving it my all to prepare and think in a certain way,” Kohli said.
Virat Kohli is someone who takes inspiration from the infamous critics or sledging. Time and again, he has his own way of shutting the critics in style. So he is least bothered about what others think of him because he wants to do the duty.
“After that, I just go out and enjoy myself. For me, it’s about doing my duty for the team and the sport that has given me everything. So, to me, what people say or write about me does not matter at all, not even one percent. In fact, it has never mattered to me because I have seen that whatever is said or written about you is very unproductive,” he added.
When a player fails to raise his bar, all the good memories that he has given to the team will be put at the corner by the fans. So, Kohli is not bothered who writes what about him. “You perform [badly] a couple of times and those things (good things) go out of the window in no time but they also come back in no time, so it shouldn’t matter to any individual; it certainly doesn’t matter to me,” he continued.
Representing India is Kohli’s biggest motivation. He said that he doesn’t want to be remembered as special because he wants to get on the pitch and do his business.
“I take this [being a cricketer] as an opportunity to go out there and just represent my country. I don’t want any tags or to be called something. I also don’t want to be remembered as someone [special].
I just want to do my duty on a daily basis to the best of my potential, help my teammates grow into better cricketers along with the team’s journey and obviously keep myself too in a good space.” Kohli signed off.
