One of the best opening partnerships of all time, the Sachin-Sehwag combination was one of the pillars on which India built its success, for over a decade. Now retired, the world cup winning pair have maintained their friendship, although they have both taken different routes post retirement. Sure enough, eyebrows were raised when Sehwag did not attend the premiere of Sachin’s much anticipated movie premiere. So in order to clear up the confusion, Virender Sehwag explains why he did not attend Sachin’s movie premiere.

The former Delhi batsman went on Twitter, and posted a video in which he explained his absence from the premier. He also took the opportunity to praise the film. He also reminisced about his playing days with Sachin, and spoke about how the great man still inspires till today.
This is what Sehwag said about the movie,
“I have seen Sachin Tendulkar’s batting for free from the non-striker’s end and even while sitting in the dressing room. But now it is time to spend some money and watch his movie. I will definitely go and watch his movie and will spend some money. I even expect that you (fans) all will also go and watch his movie because the kind of inspiration that the kids can get from his movie, they can’t get it from anywhere else. ”
Sehwag, was invited for the premiere, but he had to first complete a commitment that he had promised his wife beforehand, which is why he was out of town on that particular day.
Sehwag was one of the very few who did not come for the premiere, as the current Indian team along with Sachin’s former team mates attended the gala event.
