The Indian team has also scripted a few historic wins in the recent past and with Satnam Singh making a mark for himself in the NBA, a perfect launch pad has been set for youngsters to take up and excel in the sport of Basketball.
Former Indian Captain, Vishesh Bhriguvanshi, is the recent addition in the list of history makers for India in Basketball, as he has inked a one-year deal with the Adelaide 36ers, making him the first ever Indian to play in the NBL.
“A league in India is what I always wanted, but we still lack in that, so this opportunity makes me feel on top of the world. The NBL is one of the world’s biggest leagues after the NBA,” Vishesh told TOI reporters.
“Every player has a dream to play for a reputed league some day, and so it was my dream. Representing the nation is very different feeling, and I am definitely proud of that, but playing in a league like this has always been my dream and that is what keeps me motivated.” he added.

Vishesh is currently recovering from a knee injury, which he suffered during the BRICS Games encounter against China in Guangzhou.
“I am doing rehab these days, working hard on getting my knee back to best shape. Thankfully it isn’t an ACL injury. The FIBA Asia Cup is the priority,” he said.
