Waqar Younis slams MS Dhoni and India with his tweet after defeat against England

Waqar Younis slams MS Dhoni and team India by accusing Virat Kohli’s side for its lack of Sportsmanship after they lost to England by 31 runs.

Pakistan were majorly relying on India for yesterday’s match between India and England, as Pakistan would have received a massive boost for the semi-final qualification, if England had lost the match.

However, India failed to chase the mammoth target of 338 set by England, after a spectacular display of batting by the English lineup. On the other hand, fans from both Pakistan and India were expecting to conquer this target, considering the quality of Indian batting.

But the score turned out to be too huge for the Indians, although, despite the huge score, several fans were annoyed by India’s alleged lack of intent to win the game.

Including Pakistan’s cricketing legend Waqar Younis, who openly criticized the Indian contingent for the loss and accused them for the lack of sportsmanship and hinted that India might have purposely lost the match, to prevent Pakistan to go further in the tournament.

Here is the tweet

Several other Pakistani fans have same opinion on India’s defeat last night, as the defeat left millions of Pakistanis disappointed, as they had major expectations from their neighbours. But, England’ win has surely caused a major rift between the Indians and Pakistanis on the social media.

Many were shocked to see that the Indian side were not accelerating even after the 40th over with a required run rate near to 14 runs per over. Indian wicket-keeper, Dhoni was massively criticized for only taking singles during the last phase of the match and not hitting boundaries.

India were dominated by England in the first innings, where the hosts were able to secure 200 runs on board in less than 30 overs. Later, Indian bowling did fight back, until Jos Butler and Ben Stokes helped to make a quick 337 till the 5oth over.

On the other hand, India started their innings with a major blow after KL Rahul lost his wicket in the initial minutes of India’s batting, later India tried to stabilize itself and were expected to reach near the target until Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma lost their wickets. Thus, ended India’s phenomenal undefeated run at the World Cup.
