The 13-year old girl, identified as Giovana Santos Araujo has miraculously come out unscathed. Melo Rios however, wasn’t as fortunate with reports coming out that he has suffered a broken femur.
Per Sun, Rios mother Lilian Barcelos de Melo told local media:
“His girlfriend called me and said she had seen it on the internet.
“She saw that someone had fallen in the stadium.
“She called him straight away and someone answered the phone saying that it was him who had fallen from the top tier of the Morumbi, just minutes after it happened. It was a real scare.”
She has since confirmed “he is well” and that all his vital organs are “stable”.
Talk about a close shave.
