WATCH: AB de Villiers and Dale Steyn involved in hilarious confrontation in Mzansi Super League

AB de Villiers and Dale Steyn involved in hilarious confrontation: The two South African legends came opposite each other in Cape Town.

During the 22nd match of the ongoing second season of the Mzansi Super League between Cape Town Blitz and Tshwane Spartans in Cape Town, Tshwane Spartans batsman AB de Villiers and Cape Town Blitz fast bowler Dale Steyn were involved in a hilarious confrontation.

It all happened on the third delivery of the 14th over when de Villiers hit a Steyn delivery back to him. With Steyn not collecting the ball cleanly, it was de Villiers who picked the ball up and returned it to the bowler.

Steyn, who gave the impression of having fun with his dear friend, threw the ball back to the stumps and hilariously appealed to the square leg umpire regarding a run-out.

With de Villiers once again picking the ball up and returning it to Steyn, he eventually grabbed it and started walking back. It is worth mentioning that both de Villiers and Steyn had made their Test debut in the same match back in 2004. The veteran cricketers share a healthy chemistry between them.

Chasing a 158-run target, Spartans were restricted to 142/7 in 20 overs as the hosts registered a 15-run victory. With bowling figures of 4-0-10-3, Steyn was the pick of the bowlers for his team. It was Steyn who dismissed de Villiers (31) in the 14th over itself.

After Blitz captain Quinton de Kock won the toss and chose to bat, his team posted a mediocre 157/5 in 20 overs on the back of batsman David Bedingham’s third T20 half-century, 53 (40).
