WATCH: Antonio Conte gets sent off to the stands in Chelsea vs Swansea
With the festive season all set to set in, managers in the English game had to find a window in order to rest their core group, especially players who had played a lot this season(across competitions).
And with Swansea travelling to Stamford Bridge, Conte saw his opportunity and grabbed it with both hands, handing rests to Hazard and Azpilicueta, both of whom have played a lot of football this season.
Conte could afford to rest two key players as Swansea were not enjoying a very good time in the Premier League off late, but the plan hasn’t quite worked until now, as Chelsea have found it difficult to break down the stoic Swansea defence.
And just when you thought things couldn’t go much wrong for Chelsea, Conte was sent off to the stands for protesting the referee’s decision of awarding Swansea a goal kick when clearly the ball had gone out of a Swansea player.

Conte was in utter disbelief at the referee’s decision and then more so when he was asked to go to the stands.
And Conte being Conte, still managed to give the officials a earful, even whilst sitting 5 rows back in the stands, and he later had to be asked to go further back and to stop sending signals from the stands.
