WATCH: Ben Stokes gets hit in the abdomen by Josh Hazlewood's delivery; screams "right in the d**k"

Ben Stokes gets hit in the abdomen: The English all-rounder received a severe blow in the delicate area on Day 5 at Lord’s.

During the fifth day of the second Test of the ongoing 2019 Ashes series between England and Australia at Lord’s, England all-rounder Ben Stokes was received a severe blow in his genitals by Australia fast bowler Josh Hazlewood.

It all happened on the third delivery of the 66th over when Stokes missed a pull off Hazlewood and ended up getting hit in the delicate area. While Stokes immediately fell on the ground, him shouting “right in the d**k” in pain was perceived in a hilarious manner despite it being a serious blow.

Recovering quickly, Stokes stood on his feat ready to face the next ball. Considering how well Stokes played today to take his team out of trouble, one doubts if anything other than a declaration would have stopped him from scoring more runs.

Stokes, who came in to bat at No. 5 in the 19th over, resumed from 16* in the morning. It was a 90-run partnership for the fifth wicket alongside middle-order batsman Jos Buttler (31) which saw England not succumbing in front of the Australian bowlers in a pressure situation.

Having scored a half-century in the first Test, Stokes went on to register his seventh Test century today. Before England captain Joe Root declared the English innings, Stokes impressed one and all yet again with his 115* (165) with the help of 11 fours and three sixes.

Stokes’ innings was pivotal in England scoring 258/5 dec. in 71 overs. Chasing 267 runs to win the match, Australia have already lost David Warner (5) and Usman Khawaja (2) to England fast bowler Jofra Archer.
