WATCH: Bhuvaneshwar Kumar’s straight drive hits Hardik Pandya in the HEAD!
Hardik Pandya avoided a major injury today, after he was hit in the face/head/ear by a fierce straight drive from Bhuvaneshwar Kumar.
With Dhoni and Kohli departing in quick succession, the onus was on Hardik and Bhuvi to rebuild and provide India with a good enough total to work with in the second innings. The duo stuck to their task, manoeuvring the ball around and setting up a launchpad for the last few overs.
Bhuvi was trying to up the ante and hit a fierce straight drive down the ground that caught Hardik Pandya right in the face.
Pandya tried to take evasive action, using his hand to protect his face, and thus taking a lot of venom off the ball.
As soon as the ball hit Hardik, he was on all fours, trying to recover from the hit. The Australian players too were alarmed, signalling to the pavillion that a physio needs to come out and attend to Pandya.
The Physio obliged, rand out quickly and conducted the concussion test. Pandya was deemed fit to continue as the Physio’s test did not show any kind of concussion that might have occurred from the hit.

India have put up 252 on board and will be hoping that the pitch slows down in the second innings so that their spinners can spin a web around the Australian batting line up.
Do tune in for the chase
