When it comes to cricket, there is no greater rivalry than the one between Australia and England. Fans from both sides love to rip the other side whenever an opportunity presents itself. Steve Smith and David Warner’s return to international cricket in the longest format with Australia’s Ashes tour to England, was therefore, a mouth-watering prospect to the English supporters, who couldn’t wait to get one over the pair.

Smith and Warner had previously served a one-year ban from International cricket following their involvement in the ball-tampering scandal and participated in the ODI world cup in the same country, where they were greeted by boos all through the tournament.
The Ashes, was yet another opportunity for the English supporters to get in the heads of the two veteran batsmen with their digs and swipes. A new footage released by CA from their upcoming Amazon documentary shows just how intense the situation was and how the team dealt with the abuse.

In the video, England fans can be heard chanting “cheat, cheat, cheat” as the Australians left the Birmingham ground.
“Cry on the telly, we saw you cry on the telly,” the group of fans can also be heard chanting. This is a reference to when both Steve Smith and David Warner broke down during their apologies.
Coach Justin Langer and Captain Tim Paine both admitted that the booing was everywhere. However, the pair of Smith and Warne embraced the situation and laughed in the face of it. Langer even went on to add that doing so took immense courage.
