WATCH: Danushka Gunathilaka scoops Billy Stanlake for unbelievable six in Gabba T20I

Danushka Gunathilaka scoops Billy Stanlake: The Sri Lankan opening batsman played an outstanding shot in second T20I.

During the second T20I of the ongoing Sri Lanka’s tour of India in Brisbane, Sri Lanka opening batsman Danushka Gunathilaka played an outstanding shot off Australia fast bowler Billy Stanlake to score 12 runs off the fourth over.

It all happened on the penultimate delivery of the fourth over when Gunathilaka played a “brave” ramp shot off Stanlake. With the ball going over the wicket-keeper’s head for a six, it was the second boundary of the over for the southpaw.

Opening the batting with Kusal Mendis (1), Gunathilaka played a few impressive shots before getting out for 21 (22) with the help of two fours and a six.

In what came as a revenge for Stanlake, he bowled Gunathilaka on the second delivery of the sixth over. With Australia captain Aaron Finch bowling out Stanlake in the 12th over, the right-arm fast bowler registered bowling figures of 4-0-23-2.

It was Sri Lanka captain Lasith Malinga who won the toss and chose to bat. The visitors included Avishka Fernado, Niroshan Dickwella and Isuru Udana in place of Oshada Fernando, Minod Bhanuka and Kasun Rajitha.

On the other hand, Australia only made a solitary change to their Playing XI. Stanlake was included in place of fast bowler Mitchell Starc. It is worth mentioning that Australia had won the first T20I by a whopping 134 runs.
