Watch Dele Alli produce an innovative flick to help Tottenham score their second goal vs West Ham

Watch Dele Alli produce an innovative flick to help Tottenham score their second goal vs West Ham in their Premier League encounter at the London Stadium.

The first 45 minutes of Jose Mourinho’s first match as Tottenham’s head coach has passed with the visitors leading 2-0 at the end of the first half. Son Heung-Min scored the first goal in the 36th minute before providing an assist to Lucas Moura in the 43rd.

For a large part this season, Dele Alli was criticised for not making his presence felt. However, the young England international has already starred in both the goals tonight and has left quite an impression already.

Delle Alli fed the ball down the inside left to release son who whipped the ball behind the net. This was Alli’s first assist of the season. However, it was the second goal where he showed how creative he can get when he has his head in the right place.

Dele Alli received the ball near the touchline but slipped as he received the ball. Alli however, quickly recovered and brilliantly kept the ball in play by flicking it forward for Son to Run onto. Son then took the ball to the box before delivering a great cross into the far post. Lucas Moura reached there in time to get the ball inside the net.

The scoresheet may read Moura’s name but without Alli’s presence of mind there would have been no goal.

Jose Mourinho had earlier revealed that he had a one on one with the youngster.

“I asked him if he was Dele or Dele’s brother,” Mourinho had said.

“He told me he was Dele. ‘OK,’ I said. ‘Play like Dele.’”

And play like Dele he did.
