WATCH: Heino Kuhn reverse sweeps Kyle Abbott for magnificent six in MSL 2019

Heino Kuhn reverse sweeps Kyle Abbott: The home team’s middle-order batsman played an outstanding shot under pressure.

During the 14th match of the ongoing second season of the Mzansi Super League between Nelson Mandela Bay Giants and Durban Heat in Port Elizabeth, Nelson Mandela Bay Giants middle-order batsman Heino Kuhn played a highly innovative shot under immense pressure.

It all happened on the penultimate delivery of the penultimate over when Bay Giants required 22 runs to win off seven balls. Batting against Heat pacer Kyle Abbott, Kuhn reverse swept him for a massive six on the off-side.

Kuhn’s shot had seen the hosts needing 16 runs in the last over. It was Bay Giant all-rounder Chris Morris who scored a six and a couple of fours to seal the 161-run chase with a delivery remaining.

The unbeaten 33-run partnership between Morris and Kuhn powered the Bay Giants to their fourth victory. It is worth mentioning that Bay Giants are at the top of the points table in this tournament.

For the hosts, opening batsman Jason Roy top-scored for them with 50 (38) with the help of five fours and two sixes.

It was Durban captain Dane Vilas who won the toss and chose to bat earlier. In their allotted quota of 20 overs, Durban scored 160-5 on the back of Ravi Bopara’s 33rd T20 half-century.

Coming in to bat at No. 4 in the eighth over, Bopara ended up scoring 57* (43) with the help of four fours and a six. With bowling figures of 4-0-24-2, Nandre Burger was the pick of the Bay Giants’ bowler.
