Team India have comfortably booked their place in the semi-finals of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 after they defeated Bangladesh by 28 runs at Edgbaston. They will either face England or New Zealand in the semis, which will be disclosed after both India and Australia play their final league matches against Sri Lanka and South Africa respectively.

However, before India play its match versus Sri Lanka on Saturday, Team India’s opening batsman KL Rahul has come up with a video wherein he is seen sharing the training routine of the team, on the day before a match in the ongoing World Cup.

KL Rahul takes fans through to India’s dressing room

On behalf of the BCCI, Rahul turned into a host and provided the fans with all the training intricacies while finally wrapping it up by providing a sneak-peak into the Indian Team dressing room.

In the video produced by Rajal Arora (BCCI’s senior producer), KL first-up talked through the preparations undertaken by the players before a match day- which vary from individual to individual.

Players decide as to how they would warm-up initially and then based on their skills (batting or bowling) the batting coach (Sanjay Bangar) decides as to who would bat at which order, and the bowling coach (Bharat Arun) works on the skill sets they (players) decide to work on that day.

After the net sessions are over, the team switches over to the fielding prospect of the game. Fielding coach (R.Sridhar) organizes some fielding drills on the very ground the match would take place the next day, as conditions are different for different grounds.

“Guys like to take it easy”-Rahul

He further added that after the practice session is over, the fitness coach (Shankar Basu) and the masseur takes care of the fitness prospects along with providing massages on the problematic areas.

All in all, the players like to take it easy, as they wish to start their day afresh both physically and (more) mentally. Before signing-off, he provided a sneak-peak into the dressing room- which clearly looked messy although he assured that it remains clean on the day of the match.
