Manish Pandey hits Murugan Ashwin out of stadium: Karnataka’s captain hit a colossal six off Tamil Nadu’s spinner in Surat.

During the final match of the ongoing season of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in Surat, Karnataka captain Manish Pandey stood tall on the big occasion to play a captain’s knock when his team needed him to play it the most.

After Tamil Nadu captain Dinesh Karthik won the toss and chose to field, Pandey led from the front on the back of his 26th T20 half-century. It is worth mentioning that Pandey walked in to bat when Tamil Nadu all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed Lokesh Rahul (22) and Mayank Agarwal (0) on successive deliveries.

On the third delivery of the ninth over, Pandey broke the shackles by stepping out against Murugan Ashwin and hitting him down the ground for a colossal six. With the ball going past the sight screen, it invited a delay to bring the ball back.

In a hilarious development, the ball couldn’t be brought back a fan was caught on camera picking up the ball and taking it back with him outside the stadium. It was at this point in time that the umpires called for a new ball.

Having posted 180/5 in their allotted quota of 20 overs, Karnataka have registered a challenging total for Tamil Nadu. Top-scoring for his team, Pandey ended up scoring 60* (45) with the help of four fours and two sixes. With bowling figures of 4-0-34-2, Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers for Tamil Nadu.
