WATCH: Mitchell Starc mocks Tamim Iqbal after dismissing him in 2019 Cricket World Cup

Mitchell Starc mocks Tamim Iqbal: The Australian spearhead followed Bangladeshi opener’s dismissal with a mocking celebration.

During the 26th match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 between Australia and Bangladesh at Trent Bridge, Australia fast bowler Mitchell Starc dismissed Bangladesh opening batsman Tamim Iqbal and followed it up with a celebration which allured eyeballs.

It all happened on the first delivery of the 25th over when Iqbal’s attempt to playing a Starc delivery to third man saw him dragging the ball back on to his stumps.

Chasing a 382-run target, Iqbal had to play a major role if Bangladesh were aiming at sealing the chase. The same was all the more important especially after Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan (41) was dismissed a few overs ago.

Starc dismissing Iqbal had seen further brightened Australia’s chances of defending the total. Iqbal, who opened the batting with Soumya Sarkar (10), ended up scoring 62 (74) with the help of six fours.

After Australia captain Aaron Finch won the toss and chose to bat, Australia posted a formidable 381/5 in their allotted quota of 50 overs. Registering his 16th ODI century, opening batsman David Warner was the pick of the batsmen for Australia. The southpaw scored 166 (147) with the help of 14 fours and five sixes. Apart from Warner, Usman Khawaja (89) and Finch (53) also scored individual half-centuries.

With bowling figures of 8-0-58-3, Sarkar was the highest wicket-taker for Bangladesh.
