Returning after 2 years Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had to face problems at the start of the season when their home matches were shifted out of Chennai.
They got to play only one match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and the remaining home matches were shifted to Pune due to Cauvery Water Dispute (CWD).
CSK played their last league match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season on Sunday (20th May) where they took over Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at the Maharashtra Cricket (MCA) Stadium.
The win ensured a second place finish for CSK and they will now take on SRH in Qualifier 1 at the Wankhede tonight.
In order to qualify for the playoffs, KXIP needed a victory by 53 runs or more but they failed to do so. With CSK’s win, Rajasthan Royals (RR) qualified for the playoffs and became the fourth team to qualify for playoffs.
After the win, Dhoni was accompanied by his daughter Ziva to the Pune dressing room.
The video was posted by the CSK skipper himself on his official Instagram handle. He also thanked Pune for supporting the yellow brigade and hoped that the team entertained them enough.
“Ziva gives me company for the last walk to the Pune dressing room for this season. Thanks a lot PUNE for supporting us and turning the whole stadium yellow, hope CSK entertained you guys enough,” Dhoni’s Instagram post read.
