MS Dhoni has had a quiet limited overs series until now, not having teed off like his normal self during the death overs. But with the top 3 dismissed for not much, today was Dhoni’s chance of making an impact and showing the world that this Indian middle order was not as fragile as most people made it to be.

He was up against Junior Dala first, who had already gotten the better of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Dala peppered Dhoni with some short stuff, which Dhoni did not deal with in the best possible but managed to survive.
JJ Smutts was then brought into the attack, in sync with Dhoni’s weakness against left arm spin and just when we though that Dhoni would try and get off strike against him, he danced down the track and launched one into the stands.

MS Dhoni has been criticised for his contribution as a batsman in T20 cricket, but the Indian team management and the Indian captain have put a lot of faith in him, sending him in at number 6, ahead of Hardik Pandya, who was preferred at number 6 in the home series against Sri Lanka.
Match Situation
Manish Pandey and MS Dhoni are motoring along really well after the departure of Suresh Raina.
With close to 4 overs left and 6 wickets in hand, India would be hoping that they could post something in the range of 200.
With Pandya to come in and Dhoni striking it really well, it seems like a good enough possibility.
