WATCH: MS Dhoni takes the catch of the match to dismiss Thisara Perera

It was a day that belonged to Rohit Sharma, scoring one of the most watchable innings of all time, striking the ball beautifully and making is second match as captain of the country a memorable one for everyone involved(and the onlookers).

And while the editor of the highlight reel would find it tough to leave out moments from the 1st innings, finding good enough moments from the 2nd innings was getting tougher, until MS Dhoni turned up with this fabulous catch to light up the 2nd innings at Mohali.

The Sri Lankan batsmen were using the sweep and the reverse sweep to good effect against the Indian spinners, especially Washington Sundar, but Yuzi Chahal slowed the pace down and induced a false sweep shot from Perera, who was way too early into the shot.

The ball kissed the pads of Perera, took the edge of his pad and lobbed up into the air, and Dhoni, like a leopard, raced to the ball and gulped it down with ease in the end.

India are currently in the drivers seat with the Sri Lankan batsmen succumbing to the score board pressure, thanks to that momentous innings from Rohit Sharma.
