Watch: Nicklas Bendtner’s training footage shows that the striker is back at his best

Watch: Nicklas Bendtner’s training footage shows that the striker is back at his best and is ready to light up the Danish Superliga with Copenhagen.

Every now and then there comes a character in a sport who gathers a mass following for his antics on and off the field. Football is very lucky to have a bunch of them. The game has Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Mario Balletoli and then there is Lord Bendtner.

The Former Arsenal striker became a cult figure at the Emirates where he was more renowned for his tales off the pitch than his prowess’s on it; which frankly weren’t much to talk about anyway. After 9 years at North London, where he spent most of his time on loan, he finally moved to Wolfsburg on a permanent deal.

He has now made a return to his Boyhood club, Copenhagen, and will play for them in the Danish Super Liga. He has long been dubbed Lord Bendtner and has become the subject of many hilarious memes. To his credit, he has taken it all in his stride and has participated in the fun as well.

Video footage of his first training session with Copenhagen has now come to light. Bendtner’s Copenhagen shirt sales caused their website to crash. Their hopes are bound to crash similarly after watching his highlights from the video. Unless you’re a football troll. Then, you’ll have a gala day with a minute-long content for new material at your disposal.

Hopefully this is just him getting rid of the cobwebs and he will be at his actual best once he takes the field. Copenhagen fans will certainly hope that is the case.

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
